Skilled Tradesman
By definition, you are skilled at a specific set of related tasks. You may be a potter, mason, cook, acrobat, jeweler, dancer, painter or any other craft or profession. First, choose a Skilled Trade that best represents your area of expertise. The Tools list (pg 154 in the PHB) may help in this selection. Second, choose an existing Skill that relates to this trade, if possible, For example, musicians and performance artists may choose Performance, but tumblers would probably want to choose Acrobatics while locksmiths would choose Sleight of Hand. You gain proficiency in this Skill.

If no Skill directly relates to the chosen trade, decide which Ability is most crucial to the chosen trade (Strength or Constitution for Blacksmiths and masons, Dexterity, or Wisdom may be appropriate for portrait painters or jewelers). Add a new Skill that matches the chosen trade and apply the appropriate Ability modifier. You gain proficiency in this Skill.

Your skill provides you with a Comfortable lifestyle (see pg 158 in the PHB) provided you work each day and have access to the tools of your profession.

Master Tradesman
You gain Advantage on all Skill checks to practice your Skilled Trade and cannot suffer a Disadvantage when practicing your trade provided you have access to the tools of your profession.
